Set up the Saw
Set up a guide on the saw to keep it aligned:
Saw the planks
Take the planks and run them thru the saw slicing off 3/16"
strips. I got 24 strips from each 1" x 8" plank. Infeed and
outfeed rollers help with this. The Forrest Woodworker II thin
kerf saw blade is awesome and you can feed it thru as fast as you
can and get a smooth, smooth cut.
Set up the routers
Next you need to mill a cove on one side of each strip and round
off the other side so that they all key together. You could do
this by running each strip thru two routers. Instead, I set up two
routers (one on top, one below) a router table:
Route the Strips
Feed the strips thru the two router setup to mill the bead and
cove at the same time.
Clean Up When you are all done you have a bunch of strips and a whole
bunch of saw dust (actual size of the sawdust pile is about 4 feet
wide by 1 foot tall):
